Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

How can I find out my test results?

Test results will be reviewed by the doctor within a week,  unless otherwise stated.  The patient is informed of test results by phone if there are abnormalities; however if you do not hear from us within a week from testing, please contact the office at (703) 527-4466. We are sending e-mails for patient portal access-labs, too. However, when you look at your labs be aware that not all highs and lows have clinical significance. The doctor will interpret these results within the appropriate context and relate them to you.
Prescriptions and Refills
  • If you would like to request a new medication, please call the office for an appointment at (703) 527-4466. ANTIBIOTICS, STEROIDS OR CONTROLLED SUBSTANCES WILL NOT BE REFILLED.
  •
  • If you need a prescription refill before your next office visit; send or have your pharmacist send us an on line request. Or request it during an office visit.
  • Allow 48 hrs. for a refill.

  • For the most part, refills are not approved if the patient has not been seen for over six months. Chronic use of medications requires periodic re-evaluation for your own safety.

What do I do if I need a referral?

HMO insurance plans require a referral from the primary care physician before you see a specialist.  An appointment is needed with the primary care physician, prior to see the specialist. Otherwise, the HMO plan will not cover that visit with the specialist.

Insurance and Fees
  • Dr. Cusicanqui participates in most insurance plans; however, please make sure that she is a participant and included in your plan as the designated primary physician.  Please remember that insurance coverage is a contract between you and your insurance company. And you are responsible for payments that the insurance would not cover, such as deductibles and copayments.

  • Co-payments and deductibles are expected at the time of your visit; we accept cash, credit cards, and personal checks.
Forms and Reports

Letters and forms that need to be completed require a visit with the doctor. They might be able to be filled at the time of your visit. Otherwise, allow 2-4 days.  Please note that there is a charge for all reports and forms.  Pre-payment is required.

Workers Compensation

If you are injured at work; you must inform your employer, and they will direct you to an appropriate medical facility for services.  At this time, we do not participate in workman's compensation services.
